Good afternoon everyone,
It is with some sadness that I have to announce that I will probably be stepping down as RMCCC conference director at the end of this road season. I am the final candidate for a job that would take me to western Pennsylvania for the foreseeable future. I've told them that I can't leave you all hanging this spring, so I'll be around though at least the end of April. For those of you that are interested, it is a research engineering position with the worldwide R&D division of Dynamic Materials Corporation. It wasn't my plan to leave Colorado this year, but dream jobs don't come around every day.
So, we need to find someone that can step in and keep the conference on its current upward trajectory. The official job description can be found here: http://collegiatecycling.org/rmccc/uploads/Info/RMCCC_Director_Position_Description_2013.pdf . The ideal candidate is someone that has been a collegiate racer, team manager, and race promotor who no longer races, but wants to stay involved with the sport and is willing to commit at least 3-5 years to the job. That said, anyone that is interested, regardless of experience, should contact me or Jeffrey. This is currently a volunteer position (travel expenses are paid for) with a workload of 300-400 hours/year. In an ideal world, this workload would be split between the Conference Director and an Assistant CD.
Thank you all for letting me do this job for the last year. It has been a pleasure. I hope you are as excited as I am about the upcoming road season.
See you on Saturday,
